Feel underestimated? Good.
When Donald Trump walks into a room, people are expecting something great. Everyone fills his or her mind with expectations about what Trump should say and do.
When you walk into the room, do heads even turn? If the answer is ‘barely,’ then you’re doing well. You’ll likely land a better business deal as low profile, Joe Shmoe if you know what you’re doing. The price won’t double when the seller hears your *insignificant* name. Even Trump argues, “It’s often to your advantage to be underestimated” (Think Like a Billionaire).
Being viewed as a nobody in the competition landed Ronald Reagan his presidency. His rivals underestimated Reagan’s political knowledge and common intelligence because he was an actor. Looks like he got them in the end’and you can, too. Don’t rush to be known as the top. Stop boosting your business know-how ego. You’ll have room to grow, and soon others will be bragging about you so that you won’t have to.
