You can’t think about getting rich until after dinner

If you haven’t heard of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, no problem. If you’re failing to apply Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, big problem. In a nutshell, Abraham Maslow developed a pyramid illustrating human needs. Before you seek your fortune, be sure to fulfill the most basic of elements. Starting at the bottom, Maslow argues that a human’s most basic needs (the physiological) are necessities like food, oxygen, and water. Until you are fulfilled at this level, you cannot advance to the next. In fact, you won’t even think about getting rich until you have oxygen.

The stages that follow can help you chart your trail to wealth. It doesn’t so much matter whether your food is steak or romen as long as you have something to eat and so forth.
SAFETY AND SECURITY: after physiological needs, you seek security, stability, and protection. You develop a need for structure and limits.
SOCIAL NEEDS: Next, a sense of belonging and love become necessary. Overlook this level, and you may find yourself susceptible to social anxieties and loneliness.
ESTEEM NEEDS: We crave the respect of others, possible fame and glory, attention, and appreciation. Your personal confidence, achievement, freedom, and competence also come to play.
SELF-ACTUALIZATION NEEDS (i.e. you’re ready to make some money!): Here, self-development and realization are achieved. Lower needs (like dinner) are fulfilled, and you feel content to explore and master your strategy toward wealth.
